After a rigorous selection process, successful candidates will be placed in the Adolescent Health and HIV Specialist (P3) Talent Group for UNICEF Lusaka, Zambia for a period of 36 months. Candidates placed into the Talent Group will be reviewed when a relevant position becomes available at and if found suitable, are offered placements through a direct selection process.

How can you make a difference?
The Immunization (EPI) Specialist is accountable for professional leadership in and contribution to the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and administration of the Immunization programme in conjunction with Child Survival and Development, Maternal and Child Health, Health and Nutrition components within the country programme, to achieve the UNICEF’s immunization plus goals and objectives for the country.
He/she is also accountable for ensuring the UNICEF Immunization programme promotes gender equality, with an emphasis on gender disaggregation, gender disparity identification and gender mainstreaming.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Advanced university degree in Public Health, Paediatric Health, Child Development, Child Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.
Five years of professional work experience at the national and international levels in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of health/Immunization programmes. Professional work experience in a technical expert position related to child survival & health care. Developing country work experience (for IP) or field work experience (for NO). Background/familiarity with Emergency.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
