TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF FISH FINGERINGS, FISH FEED AND FISH FARMING ITEMS

Background

The Government of Zambia is implementing the Scaling Up Nutrition Phase II Programme (SUN II) in 17 districts with financial support from FCDO, the EU, the German Government through KFW, Irish Aid and SIDA. The SUN II is supporting Government structures, systems and interventions to the stunting reduction strategy outlined in Most Critical Days Program Phase II (MCDP II).  To achieve significant reduction in stunting, the program is designed to deliver a package of high-impact interventions to the 1,000 days households (with pregnant and lactating women and children below the age of two), offering counselling on infant and young child feeding practices and maternal and adolescent nutrition, guidance on nutrition-sensitive agriculture for dietary diversification, and promotion of safe water, sanitation and hygiene.

To effectively promote production and consumption of diverse foods, the SUN II program is empowering household beneficiaries with various nutrient-dense agricultural inputs.  Part of this intervention includes the distribution of poultry and other small livestock through the pass-on-the-gift activity. This is expected to improve the dietary diversity at household level while increasing the productivity of the specific household. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is providing technical support to the government partners at district level to ensure the successful implementation of the activity.

SUN II Pass-on Objective

The main objective of the pass-on intervention under the SUN II project is to ensure that beneficiary households have access to animal source protein through consumption of poultry and poultry products.

Implementation Approach

Targeting

I. Geographic – This will be done in the ONE (01) SUN II district, Lusaka. And delivered to SUNII beneficiaries wards: Chainda Ward 29, Chawama, Harry Mwanga Nkumbula, Kamulanga, Kapwepwe, Lima, Mtendere, Mwembeshi, Ngwerere, Raphael Chota

II. Beneficiaries – the vulnerable beneficiary households will be identified in collaboration with in the specific districts and will have to meet the following criteria:

a) Pregnant women

b) Lactating women

c) Child(ren) under the age of two (2) years old

Scope

Plan International Zambia wishes to procure fish feed and fish farming items for project activities. The items are expected to be delivered in 15 Lusaka district wards

2. Fish Feed Fry Mash 50kg X10pcs

3. Fish Feed Starter 50kg X100pcs

4. Fish Feed Grower 50 kg X66pcs

5. Fish Feed Finisher 50 kg X50pcs

6. Tarpaulin Fish Tanks (Urban) 4 meters X 5meters   4pcs

7. Pond liners 3mx 30m X15pcs

Requirements

All applicants should provide the following documentations:

• Tender offer/Quotation
• Three months bank statement
• ZPPA Registration
• Company registration certificate
• VAT Tax Registration /Clearance
• The applicant/supplier should have no pending litigation status that would negatively affect this contract.
