About Healthy Learners
At Healthy Learners, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be healthy and succeed in school. Too often, preventable health issues keep students out of the classroom, limiting their potential. By integrating health services into schools, we bridge the gap between education and healthcare, ensuring students get the support they need—when and where they need it. Our work strengthens school-based health systems, empowers educators with the tools to promote student well-being, and equips young people with the knowledge to make informed health decisions. This includes health education lessons where we collaborate with schools to integrate health education into the school schedule, ensuring lessons are relevant to local health challenges and grounded in students’ lived experiences—so they have the knowledge and skills to thrive.
About the Consultancy
Healthy Learners is looking for three (3) consultants to support the development of a structured health education curriculum for schools. This short-term contract (6 weeks, with the potential for a two-month extension) offers an opportunity to contribute to an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that promotes student health and well-being.
We are seeking candidates with expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and educational content creation who can develop, refine, and format high-quality lesson materials. The consultants will be responsible for designing engaging content and ensuring all materials are well-structured, visually clear, and ready for printing and distribution.
What We Are Looking For
• Develop engaging curriculum content – Create structured lesson plans that are interactive, age-appropriate, and aligned with best practices in pedagogy.
• Adapt health education materials – Ensure content is relevant, culturally appropriate, and supports behavior change.
• Apply instructional design principles – Use strategies such as scenario-based learning, gamification, and role-play to enhance student engagement.
• Design and format materials – Ensure lessons are well-organized, visually clear, and properly formatted for easy use by teachers and students.
• Work efficiently and independently – Meet deadlines, manage tasks effectively, and collaborate with a team.
• Bring local and global insights – Have an understanding of child development, education systems, and health literacy models, particularly in Zambia.
Required Qualifications & Skills
