Purpose Of Job
The Assistant – Technical Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of technological company systems and processes, including troubleshooting any potential issues. They are responsible for making key decisions that relate to continuous improvement within all areas of technical operations, and managing the teams that are developing materials
Main Duties Of Assistant Technical Manager
1. Leadership
• Lead and manage the Technical Team
• Coordinate and provide technical support to Technical team
• Manage and ensure adherence to Technological policies of the NetOne Group as well as manage a business continuity plan and disaster recovery site performance
• Provide training and mentorship to technical team and ensure buy in of the team to company values.
• Assist in the recruitment of team members and provide them with the necessary training to deliver expectations of the function in line with the company’s recruitment policy
2. Customer Interfacing
• Ensure business commitments to the customer are achieved in accordance with omitted technical compliance, quality and timelines
• Act as a key contact with customers who have technical issues
• Manage and Support the Data Centre technology infrastructure with to ensure SLA are met at all times.
• Support the Head – Technical services with managing relationships with Trade suppliers and solution providers both locally and international to identify most efficient and cost-effective solutions suitable for the business
3. Project Management
• Lead and manage project management technology deployments for implementation of core infrastructure, Enterprise and Data centre portfolios in line with the agreed project scope
• Conduct site surveys and advise requirements Proactive manage all projects
4. Reporting
• Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews are carried out with regards to PCI Environment.
• Send daily and weekly reports to management.
5. Other Duties
• Monitor and Report on all technical activities and provide relevant management information for appropriate and timely decision making
• Provide insight and recommendations to management on the various elements of technology and resource management belonging to the technology division.
• Responsible for change management , service request and incident management
• Ensure all laid down procedures are followed
• Undertaking any other duties/tasks (as assigned) or responsibility required to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the job within the overall objectives of NetOne IT Limited.
6. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology,
• Must have a minimum 6 years of working experience in the IT industry
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Computer literate.
• Team player who is detail oriented.
• Able to operate with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• MUST HAVE a minimum 6 years of similar experience.
• MUST HAVE a valid driving license with 2 years plus driving experience.
