JOB DETAILS:
UNO Energies Zambia Limited is in search of a skilled Electrician to be based in Lusaka.
The ideal candidate should possess expertise in electrical systems and wiring, with a focus on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations. The Electrician will be responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in various settings.

Responsibilities / Duties
• Perform routine maintenance and repair of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and control systems.
• Install, inspect, and test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and identify appropriate solutions, including repairing or replacing defective components.
• Utilize hand and power tools to perform electrical repairs and installations.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to effectively diagnose and address electrical issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of electrical systems.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including test results and equipment readings, and communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding electrical maintenance matters.

Requirements
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles, codes, and regulations.
• Ability to effectively use hand and power tools for electrical work.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when necessary.
• Valid Zambian driver’s license and willingness to travel to various locations within Zambia for maintenance work.

Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrician.
• Certification or vocational training in electrical systems or a related field.
• Experience working with industrial or commercial electrical systems.
• Familiarity with building wiring, lighting fixtures, fans, pumps etc.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to electrical work.
