1. SPIRITUAL AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT DEPUTY PROGRAM MANAGER
Job Summary
The Deputy Program Manager for Spiritual and Character Development is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating spiritual and character-building initiatives for the Tree of Life program. The position focuses on ensuring that spiritual values and character formation are integrated into all aspects of the program, contributing to the holistic development of children and staff.

Specific Tasks
1. Program Design and Implementation
• In consultation with the Tree of Life Senior Manager, design and deliver spiritual and character development activities, ensuring alignment with organizational values.
• Creating materials and resources for spiritual guidance, discipleship, and mentoring.
• Coordinate and facilitate workshops, devotionals, and special programs that promote spiritual growth and character formation.
2. Staff and Student Engagement
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and children, promoting a positive spiritual and moral environment.
• Support the planning and coordination of chapel services, Bible study sessions, and character-building activities.
• Collaborate with the Education Department and other teams to integrate spiritual development into academic and extracurricular activities.
• Develop, monitor and evaluate strategic goals and plans for teams.
• Engage in decision-making consultation with supervisors and subordinates.
• Build the capacity of subordinates in problem solving to mitigate disruptions within Tree of Life.
• Create a work culture that promotes good values among learners and staff as required by the ministry policies.
• Solicit and give appropriate feedback to staff to encourage development of strengths and address areas of growth.
• Propose and develop policies to strengthen and address various programs and initiatives for the children in Tree of Life.
• Stimulate and promote a culture of togetherness, cohesion, and unity among the Tree of Life Character Development staff.
• Intentionally build relationships with your teams to foster an environment of collaboration and freedom.
• Provide incentives for and encouragement to staff.
3.Ministry & Discipleship
• Act as Tree of Life Church rotational Sunday speaker.
• Ensure “Nurturing the Hearts of Children” principles and language are intentionally being reproduced in all training sessions.
• This position requires flexibility, as some activities may occur outside regular working hours.
• The position holder may be required to work on Sundays to facilitate spiritual programs and other related activities.
4. Administrative and Monitoring Duties
• Assist with monitoring and evaluating the impact of spiritual and character development programs.
• Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and outcomes.
• Prepare reports and provide feedback to the Senior Program Manager on program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
• Review team’s weekly reports and provide feedback.
• Compile monthly and quarterly department reports and submit to supervisor.
• Communicate information on behalf of Spiritual and Character Development Teams across ministry departments.
• Conduct training for staff.
• Maintain, compile, and report accurate records for subordinates regarding time off, sick off, leave days, special events, and other HR matters.
5. Community and Stakeholder Relations
• Foster relationships with local faith-based organizations, churches, and community leaders to support the program’s mission.
• Represent the program in external spiritual and character development forums when required.
6. Leadership and Development
• Train and mentor junior staff and volunteers involved in spiritual and character development initiatives.
7. Program Development
• Develop and/or recommend new or revised program initiatives (goals and objectives) for the department.
8. Camp Life
• Carry out assigned responsibilities in Camp Life programming as needed.

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, including at least 2 years’ experience in direct residential childcare work.

2. TREE OF LIFE BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Job Summary
The Behavior Management Coordinator at Tree of Life (TOL) Children’s Village is responsible for promoting a supportive and positive environment through proactive behavior management strategies. This role involves designing and implementing behavior management programs, supporting staff training, and working directly with children to address behavioral challenges in a manner that aligns with the organization’s values. The Behavior Management Coordinator should be skilled in conflict resolution, demonstrate empathy, and foster an environment where children feel safe and valued. This position requires a deep understanding of child and adolescent development, experience with trauma-informed care, and a commitment to the holistic well-being of each child.

Specific Tasks
1. Behavior Management Program Development
• Develop, implement, and evaluate behavior management strategies and intervention plans tailored to meet the individual needs of children in the village.
• Design positive reinforcement programs that encourage good behavior, respect, and responsibility among children and youth.
• Ensure all behavioral management practices align with Family Legacy’s mission and child protection policies.
2. Children’s Welfare and Support
• Provide direct support to children with behavioral challenges, focusing on emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and skill-building.
• Maintain regular communication with social services, counselors, and academic staff to ensure a coordinated approach to behavior support.
• Monitor and record behavioral progress and challenges, maintaining confidentiality while sharing relevant information with necessary staff.
3. Training and Staff Support
• Develop and lead training sessions for staff on behavior management techniques, de-escalation, and trauma-informed care.
• Provide coaching to staff on managing difficult behaviors and applying positive behavior intervention strategies.
• Serve as a resource for staff, offering support and guidance for handling complex behavioral situations.
4. Crisis Intervention and Conflict Resolution
• Lead crisis intervention efforts when behavior escalates, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and staff involved.
• Provide debriefing and conflict resolution support following incidents, and work with children and staff to develop appropriate coping and communication strategies.
• Document and report critical incidents in accordance with organizational policies.
5. Family and Community Engagement
• Work with families and guardians to discuss behavioral concerns, achievements, and collaborative support plans for children.
• Engage with community stakeholders, such as counselors, social workers, and psychologists, to provide additional resources and referrals for children.
• Support reintegration efforts for children returning to their communities by coordinating with Social Services on behavior-related support.
6. Administrative and Reporting Duties
• Maintain detailed records of behavior plans, incidents, and progress notes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Generate monthly and quarterly reports summarizing behavioral trends, challenges, and outcomes to provide management insights.
• Monitor and track behavior management program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements as needed.

Academic and Professional Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in behavior management, child counseling, or youth engagement.
• Certification in child counseling or trauma-informed care is preferred.

3. TREE OF LIFE HEAD OF CLIENT SERVICES
Job Summary
The Tree of Life Head of Client Services is responsible for effectively working with the Administrative and Education Services Deputy Program Manager to manage the service’s caseload of clients ensuring that individuals’ cases are progressed and issues resolved. This person coordinates all relevant departments for various care-plan and guardian related meetings.

Dimensions of the Role
• Facilitate preparations of meetings in collaboration with all relevant departments for various client related meetings.
• Record all meeting minutes, discussions, and decisions, and communicate to relevant staff after meetings.
• Conduct training and onboarding of Care Plan Committee on new processes and systems.
Typical Responsibilities – Key End Results of Position
People Management
• Facilitate preparations of meetings in collaboration with all relevant departments for various care-plan related meetings.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the supervisor.
• Ensure proper adherence to the policies and procedures of the Care Plan as stipulated by government officials, as well as the organization.
• Develop individualized care plans to address specific client needs including developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the plan as required.
Communication & Reporting
• Apply specific workplace communication techniques to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues based on respect and trust.
• Record all meeting minutes, discussions, and decisions, and communicate to relevant staff after meetings.
• Communicate information on behalf of the Care Plan Committee to Tree of Life Administrative and Education Services Deputy Program Manager.
• Perform work within a legislative and ethical framework to ensure the provision of high-quality service delivery which supports the rights and interest of clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds and linguistic needs.
• Communicate to relevant staff and stakeholders when a child is admitted, is discharged, or is reintegrated back home; work in collaboration with Social Services.

Event Planning
• Coordinate the scheduling of Care Plan Intake Assessments & Reforecasts Calendar for the year.
• Maintain scheduling and venue procurement for all care-plan related meetings, such as Treatment Plan meetings, Reintegration Forecasting Meetings, Guardian Meetings etc.
• Schedule intervention meetings to monitor at risk children (behavioral, service adequacy etc.)
• Coordinate guardian meetings to ensure successful delivery of client services with relevant departments.
• Assist in preparation and/conduct field visits in collaboration with related FLMZ departments.
• Collaborate and participate in Social Welfare related activities in collaboration with Social Services.

Data Management
• Collect, organize, and maintain child Care Plan files.
• Maintain client information and case notes on the program database.
• Maintain up-to-date versions of all Care Plan documents and forms.
• Maintain the Care Plan Google Calendar and manage all event invitations and/or reminders for various Care Plan-related timeline events.
• Work with the Monitoring Evaluation and Research team to finalize the automation process for the already developed and implemented robust care plan system to effectively track and monitor the progress and milestones of 100% of children, ensuring timely interventions and personalized support for their growth and development, leading to successful reintegration.

4. ETHICS AND SPIRITUALITY OFFICER
Job Summary
The Tree of Life Ethics and Spirituality Officer plays a vital role in fostering a Christ-centered environment by guiding the ethical and spiritual formation of children and staff at the Tree of Life Children’s Village. The position ensures alignment with Family Legacy’s mission to glorify God by equipping children in Zambia to live out their God-given potential. This includes teaching, counseling, mentorship, and coordinating spiritual programs that shape the moral and spiritual development of children and staff, reflecting the organization’s core values.

Specific Tasks
1. Ethical Guidance and Integrity
• Participate in the development and upholding of ethical policies and practices across all Tree of Life programs and activities
• Provide biblical counsel and support to children and staff facing ethical dilemmas or challenges.
• Ensure high standards of accountability, respect, and conduct in the Children’s Village.
• Promote and model Christian principles of servant leadership in all interactions
2. Spiritual Formation and Discipleship
• Mentor children for Christ-like leadership and guide them in developing a personal relationship with God
• Coordinate and implement spiritual formation programs such as Bible studies, prayer meetings, devotions for babies, young children, and youth, and evangelistic activities.
• Provide individual and group biblical counseling for children, addressing behavior issues and fostering spiritual growth.
• Oversee church activities, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place.
• Facilitate AWANA sessions.
3. Counseling and Pastoral Care
• Act as Tree of Life Church rotational Sunday speaker.
• Offer a safe, approachable, and supportive environment for children and staff to discuss personal or spiritual concerns.
• Conduct hospital and home visitations to support children and families during times of bereavement or illness.
• Collaborate with the Hill Wellness Center for referrals requiring additional counseling or spiritual support.
4. Administrative and Monitoring Duties
• Assist with monitoring and evaluating the impact of spiritual and character development programs.
• Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and outcomes.
• Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly department reports and submit to supervisor.
• Conduct Spiritual Development trainings for staff when required
• Work closely with the TOL Spiritual and Character Development Deputy Program Manager, attending weekly meetings and submitting regular reports on activities and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of spiritual development activities, including children’s transformation stories.
• Report on spiritual growth, ethical compliance, and program impact to the Spiritual and Character Development Deputy Program Manager.
5. Community and Stakeholder Relations
• Foster relationships with local faith-based organizations, churches, and community leaders to support the program’s mission
• Represent the program in external spiritual and character development forums when required.
6. Coordination of Programs and Activities
• Organize and oversee spiritual enrichment activities
• Participate in the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program to support children’s emotional well-being.
• Implement Level 1 behavior mediation strategies as outlined in the TOL Discipline Code of Conduct, escalating Level 2 cases as needed.
7. Camp Life
• Carry out assigned responsibilities in Camp Life programming as needed.
