JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To conduct compliance monitoring of Electricity undertakings in the Southern Region, in order to ensure compliance to the Energy Regulation Act, the Electricity Act and other sub regulations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Carries out technical inspections of electricity facilities for new and existing undertakings to ensure adherence to prescribed technical standards, license conditions and other regulations
• Advises supervisor of undertakings meeting/not meeting license requirements as stipulated in the ERB Act/Electricity Act and associated guidelines for action
• Prepares technical inspection and audit reports, data review reports,incident/accident investigation reports, customer complaints investigation reports as well as other periodical reports.
• Conducts analysis of infrastructure developments in the electricity sub-sector in consultation with relevant statutory bodies to ensure adherence to relevant Acts,
ZDA and Zambia Environmental Management Authority requirements
• Contributes technical articles for inclusion in brochures and other publications under the guidance of the Supervisor
• Maintains a database of all undertakings in the electricity sub-sector to facilitate the development and implementation of regulations, and monitor performance and efficiency trends
• Prepares monthly reports on activities for consolidation into Department’s report
• . Prepare technical guidelines for undertakings in the electricity sub-sector.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualifications
• Full Grade 12 Certificate with university entrance passes
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• 5 years relevant post qualifying experience

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
