Purpose of the role
• The role holder is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all field equipment related to corn seed production, including planting, detasseling, and harvesting operations. This position requires a deep understanding of agricultural machinery, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing equipment logistics and maintenance schedules. Key Responsibilities and Tasks
// Oversee the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of all field equipment necessary for seed corn production.
// Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated, functional, and compliant with safety standards.
// Implement preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime during critical production periods.
// Work closely with field operations teams to optimize equipment usage and efficiency.
// Develop strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce operational costs.
// Monitor equipment performance metrics and implement corrective actions as required.
// Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for equipment maintenance.
// Coordinate equipment logistics, including transportation and storage, to support seasonal and operational needs.
// Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, repairs, and maintenance activities
// Collaborate with cross-functional teams including agronomists, engineers, and technicians to support seed corn production goals.
// Provide technical guidance and training to field staff on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
// Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
// Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety in the use of field equipment and conduct of the equipment team.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
// Undergraduate degree in engineering fields, or, an undergraduate degree in other fields with at least 3 years practical experience with farming equipment.
// 5 to 7 years operations equipment management experience, with at least 3 years in seed production.
// Fluent in English.
// Solid technical farming experience with planting and harvesting equipment
// Must have strong knowledge of agronomics; understand principals, plant/fertilizer/chemical knowledge
// Hands-on process, must have a strong mechanical background
// Ability to connect with external stakeholders and build relationships and networks
// High proficiency with MS Office software including Excel, Project, and collaboration tools.
// Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
// Results focused with ability to work on own initiative, must be dedicated and ready to endure long hours
// Strong teamwork, agility, and influencing skills
// Strong planning and decision-making skills
