JOB DETAILS:
Overview
Leading African Security firm seeks a Guard Force Commander in Zambia
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the guard force that provides protection to all client facilities
2. Prepare guard orders, deploy guards, conduct musters and perform weekly scheduling
3. Conduct regular inspections of guards and guard posts and investigate any irregularities
4. Maintain inventory reports and investigate any irregularities
5. Prepare reports and make recommendations regarding discipline and termination actions
6. Oversee the refresher training program to ensure compliance and effectiveness
7. Oversee guard program logistics including explosive detection and X-ray equipment
8. Act as a point of contact on operational guard force matters
9. Ensure all guards are properly uniformed, equipped and staffed
10. Plan, coordinate and lead the guard force during integrated training and emergency response drills with the Security Manager
Maintain flexible work schedule, which may include assignment to evening, weekend and holiday periods

Desired Experience & Qualification:
Required Education: The GFC must have completed secondary education, high school or possess a national diploma.
Advanced security training is also required.
Required Experience:
1. Minimum 10 years police, military, security or Local Guard Force with proven experience in leadership roles.
2. Minimum five years’ work experience in Zambia
Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. Risk management skills, including problem identification and problem solving
2. Basic computer literacy
3. Advanced security training
4. Experience with risk management, including problem identification and problem solving
5. Firearms training and certification in accordance with local labor law and the requirements of this contract.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
1. Familiarity with recent trends and specific threats in Zambia
2. Record of proven reliability and good conduct
3. Experience in all areas of physical security and access control

Residency & Language Requirements:
1. Must be a Zambian , South African or US citizen, or a Third Country National in possession of a valid current work visa in the host nation
2. Must speak the local language (if not English) and have an English language proficiency speaking/reading skill level S3/R3 (intermediate-advanced).
3. Must hold a valid driver’s license for Zambia.
