Job Description
Kariba Minerals’ vision is to be the leading producer and preferred supplier of amethyst and the sole supplier of Zambinite which is one of the most sought-after gemstones in the jewelry industry. The Company’s mission is to produce and supply rough and processed high quality amethyst and Zambinite to the satisfaction of our customers in the global market.
In order to achieve this mission, the Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who have a demonstrable record of being innovative, energetic, performance driven and complex problem solving to fill the position of Human Resource Manager.
The role of Human Resource Manager is located in Lusaka , with travel requirement to the mainly the processing plant based Mapatizya, Southern Province.

Job Purpose
The Human Resource Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinate all aspects of the Company’s human resources functions. This includes managing employee-related processes, effective implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labour laws and supporting the Company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
a) Develop HR strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives
b) Oversee HR management systems (HRMS) and employee databases
c) Maintain employee records, contracts, and up to date policies
d) Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting employee engagement initiatives
e) Be a trustee on the Board of the company pension scheme
f) Ensure compliance with labour laws, workplace safety regulations, and company policies.
g) Advise the Board and senior management about human resource rules and regulations applicable in Zambia
h) Oversee payroll, salary structures, and benefits administration
i) Organize and attend weekly/monthly management meetings
j) Maintain sound employee relations between management and all classes of employees by helping to manage and lead the effort of resolving all employees’ grievances
k) Processing of expatriate staff and foreign company visitors’ immigration requisites
l) Administering of staff Compensation, benefits including the monitoring of staff leave days to required levels
m) Assess training needs and implement employee development programs
n) Processing of newly recruited and separated employee’s entitlements
o) General day to day performance of human resource and administration functions
p) Plan and execute the yearly union negotiations
q) Promote workplace health and safety standards and develop wellness programs
r) Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
s) Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the company

Job Requirements
Knowledge / Exeperience / Qualifications:
Full Grade 12 certificate with Credit or better in Mathematics and English
Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management or related field
Master’s Degree is an added advantage
At least 5 years’ work experience at senior management level
Paid up member of the ZIHRM
Ability to work under minimum supervision
Solid computer skills
An aptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic and tactical thinking, and detailed planning.
Evidence of ability to innovate and implement change successfully
Exceptional communication and presentation skills
Driven and committed to success while maintaining integrity.
