An opportunity is available for three (3) interns to support ongoing carbon project development efforts, including data validation, spatial analysis, and mapping tasks for our client.
This internship is ideal for recent graduates or students in GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or Forestry looking to gain hands-on experience in spatial data analysis, validation, and quality assurance within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate spatial datasets for accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct quality control checks on attribute tables and spatial features.
- Assist in enhancing GIS datasets by adding validation fields and relevant attributes.
- Support data cleaning, transformation, and analysis tasks.
- Analyze satellite imagery for land cover classification and mapping.
- Perform other GIS-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: Diploma in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or Forestry.
- Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Google Earth.
- Basic understanding of spatial data processing and remote sensing techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Internship Details:
Duration: 3 months
Location: Serenje/Mumbwa and Chipata.
