JOB DETAILS:
Purpose Of The Position:
To manage the country’s logistics activities towards ensuring that all stores are optimally stocked according to operational requirements and logistical policies and procedures, in order to obtain maximum sales at minimum costs. This position is part of the senior management team of the country, by acting as a link between Field Management and the Central Office Supply Chain Department.
Key Responsibilities
Distribution Centre Operations
• Management of the Distribution Centre function
• Accurate processing of all stock and transactions for inflows
• Storage and processing
• Responsible for stock takes
• Timeous stock outputs
• Stock Management, Admin & Loss Control
Inbound Processes
• Management of the inbound processes to ensure delivery of all imported and local deliveries to the country DC within planned purchase order timelines
Outbound Transport
• Management of the transport function for the delivery of all stock, fixtures and fittings from the country DC to stores
• Manage SOP and SLA compliance with Transporters
Facility Management; Health & Safety & Risk Management
• Management of all aspects of risk in the country DC and central office, including Occupational Health and Safety, access control, guarding and response management, alarms and other monitoring, Quarterly minutes of Committee meetings, SWP implementation (Safe Working Procedures).
Cost Management
• Management of the local Logistics cost budget
• Monitor expenditure to ensure that this falls within budget.
Team Management
• Plan labour requirements within the team according to DC functions.
• Supervise and lead staff in alignment with Sikhula Kunye culture
• Coach technical skills – identifies reasons for lack of performance and provides coaching where appropriate
• Provide ad hoc admin support and involvement with projects
Job Incumbent Requirements
• Grade 12
• Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain/Business Management3 years’ experience in Distribution Centre management, Imports and Exports and Transport Management
• Supervisory or management experience will be advantageous
• Previous experience working with a warehouse management system advantageous
• Understanding of Import- and Export processes as well as Customs procedures
• Retail industry experience will be advantageous
• English communication skills (verbal & written)Computer Literacy – Intermediate
• Good physical health
• Citizen of country of trading (Zambia)
