Mission: Support our customers by ensuring our automated technology, including hydraulics and automation systems for sustainable mining, remains operational and up-to-date. Focus on systems such as Surface Manager, RCS5, and HNS, and play a key role in driving the future of mining. This position requires you to travel to mine sites and lead problem-solving efforts to ensure that automated surface machines are operational.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning:
• Lead Projects: Oversee and execute the installation and commissioning of Epiroc’s cutting-edge automation products on mining sites.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
• Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate new automation systems with existing mining equipment and operations.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
• Fault Diagnosis: Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve issues in control systems, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Timely Repairs: Perform timely and efficient repairs to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operation of automation systems.
• Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues and enhance system reliability.
Technical Support:
• Provide expert technical support and training to internal teams and external customers, ensuring they are well-equipped to operate and maintain automation systems.
• Offer remote diagnostic and troubleshooting support to quickly address and resolve issues, regardless of location.
• Maintain detailed records of support interactions, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, including detailed analysis, test plans, and recommendations for improvements.
• Develop and update user manuals, training materials, and technical documentation to assist users in effectively operating automation systems.
• Collect and analyse data from automation systems to identify trends, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement.
Continuous Learning & Development:
• Continuously develop and update knowledge on the latest automation technologies and industry best practices.
• Attend training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills and stay current with evolving technologies.
• Share expertise and best practices with colleagues and team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance:
• Understand and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards associated with automation systems.
• Provide safety training and guidance to team members and customers to promote a culture of safety.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and delivery of high-quality results

Background and preferred experience:
• Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications with experience within the relevant sector min 3 – 5 years
• Hands-on experience in automation, technology, and surface mining equipment.
• Understanding of financial principles as they pertain to mining operations.
• Strong capability in coaching and mentoring technical teams.
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
