The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) is an autonomous body established by the NPA Act No. 34 of 2010. Its mission is to “provide prosecution services to contribute to a crime free Zambia”. In its quest to improve service delivery, NPA is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:
1. Assistant Director – Administration (Permanent and Pensionable)
Salary Scale NPA/02
Reports to: Director Human Resource and Administration
Duty Station: Headquarters, Lusaka
Main Job Purpose:
To coordinate the provision of administrative support services to facilitate efficient and effective operations of the Authority.
Specific Duties and Requirements:
• Coordinates effectively human resource management function to enhance staff morale and optimize utilization of human resources;
• Coordinates effectively the provision of administrative and support services to facilitate efficient and effective operations of departments;
• Coordinates effectively the preparation of bidding documents to facilitate Bidding preparations;
• Coordinates timely preparations of departmental budgets to facilitate the timely acquisition of monetary resources;
• Coordinates timely preparations of Cabinet Memo, Statutory instruments and parliamentary responses to facilitate decision-making;
• Coordinates effective maintenance of buildings and surroundings to enhance a conducive working environment;
• Coordinates timely the storage and distribution of goods, services and works to ensure availability and safety;
• Coordinates timely and accurate maintenance of records to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information;
• Coordinates regularly the identification and protection of disposable goods to create space and shelf life;
• Coordinates timely development of individual and departmental work plans to monitor and evaluate performance and
• Supervises the human resources to attain the department’s objectives.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent;
• Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration or equivalent;
• At least four (4) years of post-qualification work experience in Administration two (2) of which must be at senior management level in a reputable institution;
• Must be a Full Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management with a valid Practicing License for 2024; and
• Must be a Zambian citizen.

2. Senior Accountant Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/03
Number of positions: One (1)
Reports to: Director of Finance
Duty Station: Headquarters, Lusaka
Main Job Purpose:
To coordinate and supervise accounting activities to enhance the accountability of public funds.
Specific Duties and Requirements:
• Coordinate and supervise effectively payroll inputs to facilitate payments of salaries and other allowances;
• Coordinate timely and accurate maintenance of books of accounts to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information;
• Coordinate and supervise timely banking of revenue collections to safeguard funds;
• Supervise effectively preparation of responses to audit queries to facilitate decision-making;
• Coordinate timely preparation of monthly expenditure statements to monitor levels of expenditure;
• Coordinate and supervise timely recoveries of loans and advances to facilitate repayments;
• Coordinate and supervise the timely development of individual and unit work plans to monitor and evaluate performance;
• Supervise effectively the human and other resources to attain the objectives of the unit; and
• Coordinate timely preparation of financial reports to facilitate decision-making.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent;
• Bachelor of Accountancy, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent;
• At least four (4) years of relevant post-qualification work experience in Finance;
• Paid up Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, valid for 2024; and
• Must be a Zambian citizen.

• Computer literate and proficient in excel.
3. Accountant Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/Accountant04
Number of positions: Two (2) Position
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Duty Station: Headquarters and Ndola
Main Job Purpose:
To coordinate and supervise accounting activities to enhance the accountability of public funds

4. State Advocate Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/04
Number of positions: Thirty-six (36) Positions
Reports to: Senior State Advocate
Main Job Purpose
To prosecute criminal cases in all courts of Zambia to bring offenders to justice.
Specific Duties and Requirements:
• Prosecutes effectively criminal cases to facilitate the proper dispensation of justice;
• Processes timely dockets and issues summary trial certificates to expedite the delivery of justice;
• Renders effectively legal opinion to government departments and provides legal guidance on complaints to members of the public about criminal law to facilitate the administration of justice; and
• Guides and directs law enforcement agencies in the conduct of criminal investigations to ensure proper administration of justice.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent;
• LLB Degree;
• Valid practicing certificate;
• Must be a member of the Law Association of Zambia; and
• Must be a Zambian citizen.

5. Internal Auditor Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/04
Number of Positions: One (1)
Reports to: Senior Internal Auditor
Duty Station: Headquarters, Lusaka
Job Purpose
To coordinate the performance of audit functions in the Province/Headquarters and enhance oversight in the management of public resources.
Specific duties and responsibilities
• Undertakes effectively internal audit operations to enhance their performance and ensure adherence to standards;
• Undertakes effectively, the review of risk management processes to ascertain their effectiveness;
• Conducts IT audits on Information Systems in order to identify risks in the adoption and use of existing and emerging technologies;
• Conducts effectively compliance audits in order to foster adherence to legislation, policies, guidelines and regulations;
• Undertakes timely special and planned audit assignments in order to provide assurance on internal controls and governance systems;
• Undertakes timely the production of internal audit and management reports in order to facilitate informed decision-making;
• Undertakes timely the provision of advisory and technical services in order to inform decision-making;
• Undertakes effectively the provision of Secretarial Services to the Audit Committee in order to facilitate their operations;
• Undertakes regularly the implementation of Quality Assurance and Improvement Programs in order to facilitate the provision of effective audit services;
• Undertakes effectively the maintenance of internal audit database in order to facilitate tracking of audit recommendations for informed decision making; and
• Undertakes effectively the development and implementation of audit risk interventions/initiatives in order to reduce the impact of possible risk.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent;
• Bachelor of Accountancy, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent;
• At least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience in Audit;

6. Witness Liaison Officer Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/05
Number of Positions: One (1)
Reports to: State Advocate
Duty Station: Mansa
Job Purpose:
To ensure that all witnesses attending court hearings have a clear understanding of court processes and procedures and are provided sufficient support both beforehand and on the day of a hearing to enable them to present their evidence clearly and understandably.
Specific Duties and Requirements
• Interviews victims/witnesses and other persons or groups closely associated with victims/witnesses;
• Provides a single point of contact for witness information and organize/support pre-hearing visits for witnesses, including vulnerable and reluctant witnesses, where necessary;
• Provides crisis counselling and direct advocacy services to victims/witnesses by advocating for their rights and expressing their feelings and needs to judges, prosecutors and probation officers;
• Acts as a liaison between victims/witnesses and prosecutor, law enforcement, corrections, medical, social work and court personnel, to convey information and assist in resolving problems related to hostile/unwilling witnesses, specific treatment plans for offenders, violations of no-contact orders and court security;
• Educates victims/witnesses and their families about the Victim Rights Act and other aspects of the judicial system pertaining to their situation;
• Refers victims/witnesses and their families to respective community resources by assessing the needs, locating appropriate options and proposing available choices to the victims/witnesses to minimize the effects of victimization;
• Monitors the progress of each assigned case by attending hearings, trials and consulting with prosecutors; and
• Arranges for safe, private courthouse waiting areas, transportation and lodging of victims/witnesses as needed.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or the behavioral sciences;
• Foreign qualifications should be interpreted/graded by Zambia Qualifications Authority;
• 2 years of experience in a counseling or advocacy capacity; and
• Excellent oral and written skills for purposes of advocacy and preparation of legal documents.

• Experience working with witnesses or members of the public in a regulatory body or a similar organisation;
• Demonstrate excellent customer service delivery which can be adapted to sensitive and challenging situations;

7. Assistant Purchasing & Supplies Officer (Permanent and Pensionable)
Salary Scale: NPA/06
Number of positions: One (1)
Reports to: Purchasing and Supplies Officer
Duty Station: Ndola
Job Purpose
To undertake the provision of storage, distribution, and maintenance of procurement records in order to facilitate decision-making.
Specific Duties and Requirements
• Undertakes timely storage of goods in order to avoid loss and destruction;
• Maintains accurately an up-to-date Register of suppliers in order to establish a reliable supplier base;
• Prepares and undertakes effectively the provision of secretarial services to the NPA Procurement Committee to facilitate decision-making;
• Prepares timely and accurate bidding documents in order to facilitate decision-making; and
• Supervises effectively the procurement of goods, services, and works in order to ensure their timely availability.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent;
• Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) or its equivalent;
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification work experience in a busy procurement office;
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing & Supply; and
• Must be a Zambian citizen.

8. Driver Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/09
Number of positions: Five (5)
Reports to: Head Driver
Duty Stations: Headquarters (2), Lusaka Province (3)
Job Purpose
To drive vehicles for the Authority in order to facilitate the mobility of officers, materials
and equipment.
Specific Duties and Requirements:
• Drives safely and regularly in order to facilitate officer’s attendance to official duties;
• Prepares timely accidents reports in order to facilitate decision making;
• Completes timely log books to enhance the accountability of journeys; and
• Undertakes regularly basic vehicle inspection in order to ascertain its road worthiness.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent;
• Trade Test Certificate, will be added advantage;
• Valid Driver’s Licence;
• At least two (2) years work experience; and
• Must be a Zambian citizen.

9. Office Orderly Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/10
Number of positions: Three (3)
Reports to: Senior Office Orderly

Specific Duties and Requirements:
• Undertake regularly cleaning of offices in order to make them habitable; and
• Ensures timely and regularly cleaning of eating and drinking utensils in order to make them hygienic for use.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent;
• Basic knowledge of cleaning;
• Must be a Zambian citizen; and

10. Security Guard Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: NPA/10
Number of positions: Three (3)
Reports to: Executive Officer
Duty Station: Lusaka
Specific Duties and Requirements:
• Provide reliable security services in order to prevent crime and loss of property and life;
• Ensures safety of the occupants; and
• Safe guard all government resources under the officer’s custody.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent;
• Basic knowledge of security enforcement and its equivalent;
• At least one (1) year work experience;
• Must be a Zambian citizen; and
