Job Opportunity
The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB) is a social security scheme responsible for compensating workers in respect of accidents suffered and diseases contracted during the course of employment in accordance with the provisions of the Workers’ Compensation Act No. 10 of 1999 of the Laws of Zambia.
The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian citizens to fill the following vacant positions.
1. PROJECTS MANAGER – HEAD OFFICE (1)
A. JOB PURPOSE
• The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of WCFCB property development projects to ensure delivery against set timelines and quality standards.
B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the daily operations of the WCFCB projects to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the use of time and resources;
• Create and deliver the project work plans to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of the projects within the set timelines and budgets;
• Revise the project work plans as appropriate so as to meet the changing needs and requirements which include change of project design, scope and even budget;
• Develop and submit project status reports to WCFCB management as the project progresses from initial stages to completion, to support management make informed decisions on strategies for any challenges identified; Draws up the yearly maintenance plan for all properties, by determining the maintenance needs of each property through issuance of maintenance requests forms and physical inspection to verify what is written down on forms.
• Monitor the project deliverables for quality, to ensure appropriate interventions are taken to correct any quality gaps identified;
• Supervise all the specialists/experts and contractors on the projects undertaken by WCFCB to ensure maintenance of the required quality and standards.
• Provide consistent communication and efficient liaison with the contractors, consultants, architects/planners, and the contracted project managers for the smooth running of the projects; and
• Liaise with other projects directorate staff over the supervision and implementation of construction projects. Service contracts like cleaning, landscaping, lift maintenance, refuse collection security and property managers etc.
C. JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Five (5) “O” Levels (with credit or better) inclusive of Mathematics and English.
• Degree in B. Eng./BSc Degree Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent.
• Post Qualification in Project Management will be added advantage
• Must have valid Driving Licence.
• Not less than seven (7) years of experience in construction or similar projects of similar scope.
• Must be registered with Zambia Institute of Architects, Engineering Institute of Zambia or Quantity Surveying Institute of Zambia.
• Must be a full member of Zambia Institute of Architects, Engineering Institute of Zambia or Quantity Surveying Institute of Zambia.
2. PROPERTY OFFICER – SOUTH, LUSAKA (1)
JOB PURPOSE
• To inspect and supervise building construction and maintenance works at various properties of the board in the Southern Region of the country so as to improve and maintain high standards of the properties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• To undertake routine site inspections on Board properties and prepares technical reports to highlight any possible defects requiring attention
• To attends to tenants’ complaints by way of inspecting the reported defects and prepare technical reports with recommendations for remedial action.
• To prepare architectural drawings, scope of works, specifications, Bills of Quantities and Estimates of works for workers compensation Fund Control Board in order to assist with the assessing of cost implications.
• To supervise building works carried out by both hired contractors and internal artisans, prepare progress reports and certify completed works for payment purposes.
• To evaluate bids submitted by contractors and recommendations to management so that the responsive contractors carry out works on Board Properties.
• To carry out tenancy screening for potential tenants, make recommendations to management and, thereafter prepare tenancy agreements.
• To Prepare rental invoices, manage the rental collections and make reconciliations so as to maintain an updated payment profile for all commercial and residential tenants.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Full Grade twelve (12) certificate or GCE `O’ level certificate with at least five (5) credits or better.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Architecture, Quantity Surveying from a recognized higher institution of learning
• At least 3 years working experience with an understanding of building construction and maintenance.
• A post qualification in project management will be added advantage.

3. INVESTMENT ANALYST (2)
A. JOB PURPOSE
• Conduct in-depth research, analysing markets and financial data to provide insights on investment opportunities and market trends and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also involves validating investment transactions, monitoring asset performance, and optimizing returns through effective portfolio management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conducts due diligence on the Markets and Investment opportunities by researching, analyzing financial statements and market data and producing reports thereon;
• Analyses financial information relating to specific companies, e.g. company results, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements to determine how an organisation is positioned to deliver for investors;
• Keeps up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other areas that can affect the markets, e.g. movements in the economies of relevant countries;
• Conducts ad-hoc research based on specific investment opportunities that may come onto the market;
• Advises on the maturity profiles of the investments;
• Monitors and reports on weekly, monthly and quarterly bases the performance and position of the Assets under Management;
• Updates the system on a daily basis with the investment transactions;
• Maintains track of expected investment income and makes follow ups to ensure its receipt, and reconciles the information with the Finance Department;
• Ensures all documentation pertaining to investments is filed and is up to date;
• Carries out any other duties incidental to the functional objectives as may be directed from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Full Grade twelve (12) certificate or GCE `O’ level certificate with at least five (5) credits or better.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Investments, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, CTP, FRM and CISI are an added advantage.
• Not less than 3 years of experience in investment management, treasury, or financial analysis in an organisation of similar size of operations.
4. SYSTEMS DEVELOPER – HEAD OFFICE 1
A. JOB PURPOSE
• To develop software and Database Management, System Integration, and deployment using modern tools and frameworks. This role is focused on building, optimizing, and deploying applications, ensuring their seamless operation on both client-side and server-side components.
B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain responsive front-end applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Vue.js etc.
• Have working knowledge in Java, Python and other OOP languages.
• Ensure that the application is mobile-friendly and works across all devices.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure a high-quality user experience.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust back-end services and APIs using Spring Boot.
• Build and optimize database schemas and queries for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases.
• Containerize applications using Docker for efficient deployment and scaling.
• Ensure applications run smoothly on Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows servers.

Key Skills And Competencies
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming in Java and the Spring framework, including Spring Boot or any other such frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of relational database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Experience with containerization technologies, specifically Docker.
• Understanding of Linux-based systems (Oracle Linux, Ubuntu) and Windows servers.

5. SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (1)
A. JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of the organization's ICT infrastructure by planning, implementing, and maintaining enterprise systems, including email platforms, server hardware, virtualization environments, and productivity tools. The Systems Administrator will support business continuity by managing backup and disaster recovery solutions, enhancing system performance, and providing second-level technical support to end-users. This role is critical in driving technological innovation, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and aligning ICT operations with the organization’s strategic goals.
• B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer and maintain virtualization environments for Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V.
• Optimize resource allocation to ensure peak performance of virtual machines.
• Manage backups and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized systems.
• Administer and maintain the organization's Active Directory (AD) infrastructure.
• Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions.
• Implement and enforce Group Policies (GPOs).
• Plan, install, configure, and manage Microsoft Exchange email systems.
• Monitor email performance, availability, and security.
• Implement and manage email backup and archiving solutions.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers and clients.
• Ensure patch management and security updates are applied regularly.
• Provide support for Microsoft Office 365 and related productivity tools.
• Assist in onboarding new users and troubleshooting application issues.
• Set up and manage network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network availability.
• Plan and implement network upgrades and expansions to meet growing business requirements.
• Perform routine checks, troubleshooting, and upgrades of server hardware.
• Ensure server hardware operates efficiently and meets system demands.
• Collaborate with vendors for warranty claims, repairs, and hardware procurement.
• Implement and manage the enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS).

• Create dashboards for real-time visibility of system health.
• Provide second-level support to end-users for complex issues escalated from the helpdesk.
• Develop and maintain detailed system documentation and procedures.
• Train staff on ICT systems and productivity tools to maximize system usage.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware or software warrants or service agreements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with five (5) credits or better which should include
• English and Mathematics.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Professional Certifications, Microsoft Exchange certified, Azure Administrator, VMware Certified, Nutanix Certified, CompTIA Server+, CCNA, CCNP or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role managing enterprise ICT systems with proven expertise in Microsoft Exchange and Office 365.
• Proficiency in platforms Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V.
• Experience in Server Hardware, SAN/NAS storage, and networking.
• Experience in Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Knowledge of IT Security best practices and technologies.
• Experience in implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Oral and Written communication skills)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Must possess a valid Zambian Driver's License with a minimum of 3 years driving experience, driving manual transmission vehicles will be an added advantage.
• Must be a member of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia.
6. STORES OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE
• To manage the Storeroom and maintain a buffer of stocks in order to control issuance and receipt of the materials in line with the Board policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receives stocks from vendors via the Procurement Unit, inspects supplies and accepts or rejects them depending on quality and specification given to ensure compliance to the procurement guidelines.
• Raises goods received vouchers, monitors stock levels and issues stocks in absence of Stores Clerk and records such issues as per procedures, to provide an accurate record and enhance corporate image.
• Consolidates daily activities, monitors and reports on all issues in the stores so as to review, establish and advise on stock levels for timely replenishment of the same.
• Checks on all updates from the Stores Clerk in order to ensure correctness of details and queries doubtful figures or details.
• Monitors consumption of fuel to ensure accountability and prepares the report for superior’s attention.
• Compiles reports on any shortages, losses and expired stocks for the attention of and for relevant action by superior.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with five (5) credits or better including Mathematics and English.
• Degree in BA/Purchasing and Supply/Stores Management
• At least three (3) years’ work experience at Management level.

7. INTERNAL AUDITOR – INFORMATION SYSTEMS AUDIT
A. JOB PURPOSE
• To assist superior with planning, auditing and general assessment of controls, accuracy of financial and operational processes/procedures and effectiveness of the same to ensure accountability for and transparency in the use of all Board assets.
B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Examine internal IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, determine exposure to risk and develop remediation strategies.
• Audit security and network problems.
• Audit to all system and/or network security breaches.
• Plan, implement, monitor and upgrade security measures for the protection of the organization’s data, systems and networks.
• Audit and Review the change management process.
• Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities, and create counteractive strategies to protect the network.
• Conduct efficient and effective IT audit procedures.
• Communicate complex technical issues in simplified terms to the relevant staff.
• Perform regular audit testing and provide recommendations.
• Review, evaluate and test application controls.
• Provide recommendations and guidance on identified security and control risks.

C. JOB REQUIREMENTS

8. SECRETARY – HEAD OFFICE, NDOLA (3)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
• To provide a confidential secretarial service to the superior to contribute to the achievement of the Board’s objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• To type accurately from dictation or from manuscript, memoranda, letters and various reports as well as all draft correspondence and documents of the superior to ensure attainment of high quality standards.
• To draft and type routine letters based on precedent in order to contribute to the efficiency of the department.
• To attend to incoming calls, screen all telephone calls and visitors to superior and attends to calls from stakeholders in order to maintain communication with the superiors and beneficiaries.
• To make appointments for the Director/ Manager and reminds superiors over any pending appointments/engagements so that they manage time according to schedule.
• To maintain an up-to-date filing system for confidential information and other records to ensure that there is easy retrieval of information.
• To carry out superior’s instructions for effective and efficient running of Director’s/Manager’s office.
• To order and replenish office Supplies and equipment.
• To make Hotel and Travel bookings for superiors as and when required.

• Monitors consumption of fuel to ensure accountability and prepares the report for superior’s attention.
• Compiles reports on any shortages, losses and expired stocks for the attention of and for relevant action by superior.
• Makes recommendations for disposal of all obsolete stocks.

10. DRIVER/MECHANIC – HEAD OFFICE (1)
JOB PURPOSE
• To ensure that all Board vehicles are in good working condition and carry out basic maintenance and repairs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Planning, implementing and monitoring the maintenance of the Board’s fleet vehicles to ensure their availability for operational assignments.
• Monitor the performance of all Board vehicles to ensure proper and consistent performance of duties.
• Makes follow-ups on service schedules for vehicles in liaison with Administration Officer, to ensure that vehicles are in road worth condition/maintaining repair records by recording service and repair details and costs.
• To prepare timely accident reports in order to facilitate timely submission of accident reports.
• To ensure that all Board pool vehicles have log books and other motor vehicle accessories.
• Inspection of motor vehicles before and after Board trips.
• Completing daily/weekly vehicle road worthiness checklists for each vehicle in the fleet, including carrying out mechanical and electrical checks and the vehicle tool kit checks, to ensure compliance with road safety requirements.
• Runs errands in absence of concerned Drivers in order to ensure continuity of Board’s business.
• To submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the supervisor.

11. DRIVERS – HEAD OFFICE (4)
Job Purpose
• To facilitate transport logistics in the movement of members of staff, service delivery and various logistical assignments.
Job Responsibilities
• To provide transport logistics to and from destinations.
• To ensure that all transport assignments are delivered timely.
• To fulfil administrative duties such as office pick-ups, Bord member pick-ups and any other assignments as my be given by the supervisor.
• To keep mileage records and repair records up to date.
• To ensure that Board vehicles/pool vehicles are fueled and ready for use at any given.
• To ensure that all Board vehicles are always clean.
• To ensure that all accidents are reported immediately.
• To complete logbooks for each trip undertaken.
• To adhere to all road traffic and transport regulations as set by the relevant authorities.
