JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
Dedicated to managing and expanding our SME portfolio. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge digital neobanking solutions to provide SMEs with tailored financial services, fostering long-term relationships and delivering exceptional value.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
• Achieve Sales Targets: Drive both financial and non-financial targets by effectively generating new business. Identify, convert, and manage prospects in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and risk appetite.
• Account Management & Client Solutions: Develop and implement strategic account plans for your SME clients. Understand client needs and structure customized solutions, including credit facilities and transactions that meet their unique business goals.
• Cross-Sell Financial Products: Promote and sell a broad range of products, including trade services, cash management, treasury solutions, and investment offerings, to existing and potential clients.
• Credit Proposal & Loan Management: Prepare comprehensive credit proposals and loan applications for SME clients, ensuring timely reviews and approvals. Work closely with the credit team to maintain a high-quality lending portfolio in line with policy guidelines.
• Client Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with a portfolio of growing SME clients. Ensure exceptional service delivery, driving client satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management:
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in operational efficiency, ensuring that systems and processes are aligned to enhance client experience and deliver scalable solutions.
• Operational Risk & Compliance: Support the management of operational risks and ensure strict compliance with internal policies, global regulations, and local laws. Ensure adherence to KYC (Know Your Customer), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and credit policies.
• Customer Due Diligence: Conduct regular and timely customer due diligence (CDD) reviews and ensure error-free CDD profiles for smooth sign-offs. Escalate any KYC issues where necessary.
• Issue Resolution: Handle customer queries, complaints, and product inquiries in a prompt and efficient manner, following established procedures to ensure client satisfaction.
People & Talent Development:
• Team Collaboration: Embody the organization’s values and culture, collaborating effectively with both internal stakeholders and clients to deliver innovative and effective financial solutions.
• Coaching & Mentorship: Support the development of peers and junior staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to strengthen the team and enhance service delivery.
Risk & Governance:
• Compliance Adherence: Ensure the business operates within the group’s risk appetite by strictly following relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including AML, KYC, and client suitability standards.
• Governance & Reporting: Maintain robust governance controls, ensuring compliance with data confidentiality, credit applications, cross-border policies, and overall regulatory and business conduct standards.
Skills & Experience:
• Proven Expertise: Extensive experience in business products, liability relationship management, trade finance (BG, LC, Bills, EBN), and cash management services.
• SME Neobanking Knowledge: Strong understanding of the SME landscape, including startup neobanking, treasury solutions, and financial management.
• Sales & Relationship Management: Track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth through proactive client relationship management and cross-selling of financial products.
• Risk Management: Familiarity with risk frameworks, compliance procedures, and the ability to identify and mitigate risks within the SME neobanking space.
• Technology Savvy: Experience working in a fintech or digital neobanking environment, with a focus on using technology to streamline processes and enhance client experiences.
Qualifications:
• Academic Background: A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA will be an added advantage).
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in banking, particularly in SME neobanking, fintech, or neobanking environments.
