AGL Zambia Limited is pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join the Finance team at our Lusaka Head Office as Reporting & Business Controller.
How Will You Impact AGL Zambia Ltd?
Under the supervision of the Country Financial Controller, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring the financial integrity of the company’s operations. This role will support the Financial Controller in producing internal and external financial statements, managing financial performance metrics, and providing insights into the company’s financial performance.
• Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation and review of management accounts and reporting to ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance with AGL’s Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial forecasts and budgets. Track report on budget variances and provide explanations.
• Variance Analysis: Perform detailed variance analysis on revenue, expenses, and other financial data, providing actionable insights to management.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure the company’s financial records are compliant with local tax laws, accounting standards, and company policies. Assist in internal and external audits.
• Financial Systems & Controls: Ensure the integrity of financial data through the regular review of the postings in SUN alongside the accompanying supporting documentation.
• Cash Flow Management: Assist the Financial Controller monitor and report on cash flow trends and forecasts.
• Reporting of Key Statistics: Assist the Financial Controller with the reporting of key statistics such as profitability per customer/product/service/department, speed of invoicing etc.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, such as operations, sales, and HR, to gather data for accurate financial reporting and analysis

What You Need to Succeed.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ZICA) is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in logistics, transportation, or supply chain industries. Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel (advanced level). Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI will be an added advantage.
