JOB DETAILS:
Position Overview
• The Senior Communications Officer (SCO) will be in charge of developing all our communications strategy, including preparing press releases, marketing materials, and media reports. S/He will have to manage the organization’s communications channels and digital platforms, including email, website, and social media accounts. S/He will supervise and provide direction to junior communication staff and quality assure their deliverables to ensure they align with the organization’s mission and vision. This is a dynamic position that includes fundraising, branding, and business development responsibilities.
• The ideal candidate should have superb organizational, communication, and leadership skills, and must be tech-savvy and proficient with different project management, email automation, and analytics tools. Having previous experience working in a nonprofit organization is a huge plus.

Main Duties
Overall Communications and content management
• Develop internal communication and marketing strategy that aligns with our organization’s objectives and image.
• Create a content plan for various organizational communication channels, including social media, newsletters, websites, and other platforms.
• Collaborate with team members to gather information and insights for content creation.
• Research to ensure the accuracy and relevance of content before it is published.
• Write compelling and well-structured articles, stories, and reports.
• Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in content creation and digital marketing.
• Write press releases and maintain a good relationship with journalists and other media members.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the communication strategy using relevant KPIs, such as website analytics, surveys, and email click-through rate
• Supervise the entire process of content publication—from writing and editing to proofreading and publishing.
• Manage the content distribution across all marketing channels, including social media platforms and email.
• Track web analytics to measure the success of our communications and content marketing campaigns, identify areas for improvement, and formulate better strategies to improve engagement and revenue.
• Write and design internal reports, including mid and annual reports.
• Assist with coordination of updates & improvements on CRZ’s website.
• Contribute and write stories and articles on the work of the organization in different programs.
• Coordinate presentations, logistics, and messages for internal and external meetings for CRZ.
• Assist with grant applications and reports, as well as integrating communications components in existing and new program grants.
• Coordinate/assist with outreach efforts as determined by programs and management.
• Work with staff to identify potential media opportunities and stories.
• Coordinate photography/videos for/of events, and activities for use in publications, media, etc., and ensure appropriate releases are signed and filed; maintain videos, graphics, and photo files.

Marketing and Branding:
• Develop and monitor the CRZ marketing strategy, including a comprehensive social media strategy.
• Effectively support the development and implementation of organizational and program-specific internal and external communications strategies, plans, policies, directories, templates, and tools.
• Creating communication tactics for new projects, events, and initiatives
• Develop communication campaigns that raise awareness and promote our organization’s services to the target demographic/communities and donors.
• Managing and overseeing the creation of marketing and communications deliverables
• Establishing internal communications processes to ensure everyone is in the loop and updated on the status of each project/initiative.
• Creating and maintaining connections and working with different internal stakeholders to develop and execute communication strategies.
• Executing digital fundraising and engagement campaigns via email, website, and social media
• Creating and delivering monthly newsletters to internal and external stakeholders, notifying them of successful projects/initiatives and providing an outlook for the following month
• Efficiently lead in the preparation and execution of high-profile visitor events and conferences.
• Perform thorough daily media monitoring to identify risks and opportunities to CRZ.
• Effectively support fundraising activities, including preparation of supporting documents, maintenance of the funder database, facilitating events, mail-outs, film-making, and other identified activities.
• Any other duties assigned by the CEO, Supervisor, program managers, or any other duly authorized staff.

Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in mass communication or related field.
• A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Certification in Digital Marketing/Content Creation
• Exposure and expertise in graphic design principles, e-communications, social media, internet, and Journalistic skills will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of work experience with an NGO or Communications Agency
• Interest in youth engagement, health systems, sexual reproductive health and rights advocacy is key.
