Overview
We are recruiting!
Our client in Lusaka is looking for a Senior HSE Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the mining industry.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and coordinate the implementation of local Safety and Environment Management and Strategic Plans.
• Provide and manage the staff safety training plan for all staff on site to ensure site compliance.
• Provide supervisory guidance and support to Safety Officers on site.
• Collaborate with mine site management to promote a culture of health, safety and environmental responsibility.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards. E.g. Mining Regulation, Occupational Health and Safety Act 2010, Environmental Management Act.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare comprehensive reports. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness.

Specific Job Requirements And Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in HSE (e.g., CSP, CIH, NEBOSH) are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within a mining or heavy industry maintenance environment. Preferably on a mine site.
